Whippets

Although we started showing whippets in 1987 with Joey (Champion Allgarth Principal 6CC's Sire: Champion Capo Di Monte X Dam: Elmanash Sunflower of Allgarth) our first homebred litter made its appearance in the show ring in 2002.

We bought Joey from Mr. Frank Moore as a puppy and campaigned him to his title. Joey also took the runner up spot in the Champion Stakes qualifier at Manchester, only to be beaten by his beagle kennel mate Champion Bayard Zachariah. Sadly we lost Joey in 1999 at the age of 13.

Shortly afterwards Joey was joined by the first whippet to carry the Bayard affix, Sweden Champion Marash Melody at Bayard.

Melody won well in this country, taking the CC at Crufts before being exported to Sweden where she quickly gained her title and produced many top winners..

In 2000 we acquired a whippet bitch from Julie Seward, Elleonia Little Madam (Maddie).

Although only lightly campaigned Maddie has always been placed in her limit classes.

In 2001 she was mated to the top winning whippet Champion Khabaray Single Malt at Dumbriton.

The resulting litter produced Bayard Tomatin and Bayard Inchmurrin. Julie Seward showed Bayard Knockando for Elleonia and Patsy Gilmour and Sue Ross campaigned Champion Bayard Islay Mist at Dumbriton who at that time was the youngest whippet champion bitch to gain her title, one of which was at Crufts under judge Shirley Rawlings.
